Orly: Paris's Second Airport

Located just 13 km south of Paris, Orly airport is more accessible than CDG for many Parisian destinations. Handling 33 million passengers annually, it primarily serves domestic, European, and North African routes. After extensive modernisation, the Orly 4 terminal (formerly South) has become a benchmark for comfort.

The airport has 4 sectors: Orly 1, 2, 3 and 4, all connected by the internal OrlyVal shuttle. Low-cost carriers like Transavia and EasyJet mainly operate from Orly 1 and 3.

Getting from Orly to Paris

The Orlybus (€11.50, 30-40 min) connects Orly to Denfert-Rochereau. The OrlyVal + RER B (€14.10) is faster but requires a change at Antony. Tramway T7 (€2.10) reaches Villejuif-Louis Aragon (Metro 7) in 40 minutes — cheapest but slowest.

A private V-Class transfer from Orly is ideal for late arrivals or families: direct pickup outside the terminal, no connections, fixed price, and child seats available. The journey to central Paris takes 25-35 minutes depending on traffic.

Lounges and Premium Services

The Icare Lounge (Orly 4) is accessible with Priority Pass and offers a quiet space with catering. For domestic flights, the Air France lounge at Orly 3 departures provides complimentary breakfast and snacks for Flying Blue Gold and Platinum members.

Orly has free rest areas at departure level, charging stations, and unlimited free WiFi. Duty-free shops are concentrated in Orly 4 with a fine selection of French wines and spirits.

Parking at Orly

Official car parks P0-P4 are close to terminals but pricey (€30-40/day). Economy car parks P5 and P7 are connected by shuttle and start at €15/day. ParkVia and OneAirPark offer cheaper alternatives with valet service.

For short trips, the free drop-off zone (10 min max) in front of departures is handy. For longer trips, a round-trip private transfer with KAR GO often works out cheaper than a week's parking.

Tips for Your Visit to Orly

Orly is more compact than CDG: 1.5 hours before your flight is enough for Schengen flights. Security is generally quicker than CDG, except Sunday evenings and Monday mornings. Orly 4 terminal restaurants offer good culinary variety.

Watch out for frequent roadworks on the A6 and A106 serving Orly. During rush hour, the drive from central Paris can take up to an hour. Your KAR GO chauffeur knows alternative routes to avoid traffic jams.
